Seeing With Your Imagination™
I go around saying “I SEE SOMETHING” so much that it has become my trademark. After one of my many 1-on-1 field photography training sessions, one of my students made a self-discovery: “After walking around with you, I realize that I overlook a lot!”
I approach photography from an even deeper level than art. I take a contemplative approach to my photography, rather than limiting myself to only the technical aspects of cameras and lenses. However, it is my philosophy about the juxtaposition of life and self that form the foundation for my art.
There are two key concepts which I continuously apply to my photo art: detachment and un-labeling. I detach myself from what I have been conditioned to think, hear, see and interpret, as well as other attachments. This helps me with un-labeling, or not seeing what I have been programmed to see.
What do you see?
This was made approximately 10,000’ above sea level. It’s a puddle in the middle of a hiking trail.
